Crete Senesi 
They are located south east from Siena and they have become tourist destination for a short time, however it is worth visiting them. A hilly landscape where the streets delicately streak the territory, which is sweet and rough at the same time. People leave in old farms and in small medieval villages and in towns such as Asciano, Rapolano Terme, Monteroni d'Arbia, Buonconvento and San Giovanni d'Asso.
Every year Medieval tournaments, such as races along the old alleys and jousts played by heroic knights, take place in this area. The most famous tournament is the Palio, a horse race that takes place every July 2nd and August 16th in the Piazza del Campo in Siena.
